Delaware County's Final Mail Participation Rate is Highest among Ohio Counties over 100,000 Population

The Census Bureau released the final Mail Participation rates for the nation on April 28th. According to the final figures, Delaware County's final Mail Participation Rate of 83% ranked the highest among Ohio counties with population over 100,000. The Census Bureau has selected two Questionnaire Assistance Centers (QAC) in Delaware County

Questionnaire Assistance Centers are established by local census offices to assist people with completing their questionnaires. They are usually established in libraries, community centers, large apartment buildings, and so forth. The centers are staffed by volunteers and Census Bureau employees.

• Delaware County District Library at 84 E. Winter Street Delaware, OH 43015; A Census representative will be at the library on:
  • Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from Noon to 5 PM
• Council For Older Adults at 800 Cheshire Road suite A Delaware, OH 43015; A Census representative will be at the Council on:
  • Monday 3/22 – Weds. 3/24 – 9 to noon
    March 29 & 30 – 9 to noon
    April 1&2 – 2-5
    April 5-7 – 9 to noon
    April 8&9 – 2-5
    April 12-14 – 9-noon
    April 15&16 – 2-5
    April 19-21 – 9-noon

The operation dates for QAC's will be March 19, 2010 to April 19, 2010.

Census Job Testing was held in Delaware County on January 12th, 2010

Those interested in applying for Census jobs had an opportunity to take a test at 3 pm, 4 pm, or 5 pm at the Hayes building in Room G-22. The available positions were: enumerators, crew leaders, crew leader assistants, recruiting assistants, and census clerks. For more information and to view a practice test go to: Census jobs website. Proper identification is required.
