Delaware County 2006 Topography Dataset
The Topography Dataset is available on two DVD sets and each set includes two DVDs. The following provides more detailed information regarding the content of these two DVD sets.
You can place an order for these DVD sets by contacting the DALIS Project office by either calling us at 740-833-2070 or send an email. The cost of each of these DVD sets is at $25.00.
Please note that you can also download the DXF files and shape files on a tile by tile basis by clicking HERE. These shape files and DXF files are zipped in the same file.
Content of DVD Sets:
Content of DVD_1: ESRI Shapefile Format
Size: +/-3.3 GB
Shapes_files Folder:
Contours_by_tiles Folder – 1,555 shape files for each 2-Foot contour topo tile; each file includes an XML (metadata) and PRJ (projection) file. Files are named based on the tile number driven from the index file. The largest file is +/-6 MB. These files are also available on DALIS Project’s website.
Contours_by_twps Folder – Shape files for each township (excluding Washington which is included in Concord Township), the original township layer (with 18 polygons) is used for clipping these shape files. Please note that some of these files are very large. The largest file is +/-172 MB. All files include an XML (metadata) and PRJ (projection) file.
Index_file Folder – This is the index file used to clip the countywide contours and is called index_2006.shp; each tile’s name is drawn from this file. An XML (metadata) and PRJ (projection) file is included. A PDF file of this index layer is also included in this folder and the file is called topo_shp_index.pdf
Spot_elevations_by_county Folder – One countywide spot elevation
shape file which is called spot_elevations.shp. This file includes an XML (metadata) and PRJ (projection) file.

Content of DVD_2: ESRI Personal Geodatabase Format
Size: +/-2.4 GB
PGDB Folder:
Area_index Folder – This folder contains another index shape file that
includes three sub areas. The personal geodatabase is divided by these sub areas. An XML metadata) and PRJ (projection) file is included. A PDF file of this index layer is also included in this folder and is called topo_pgdb_index.pdf. You can access the PDF file from HERE.
Personal_geodatabase – Three sub area’s personal geodatabases are included in this folder; each of these PGDBs includes metadata information accessible from ArcCatalog. Each PGDB includes contours, spot elevations, spot elevation annotation, breaklines, bridges, obscured areas feature classes. These three databases are very large and their sizes vary from 620 MB to 1.1 GB.

Content of DXFDVD_1:DXF Format
Size: +/-4.1 GB
DXF_files Folder:
Contours_by_tile_1 Folder – This folder contains the first group of DXF files for 2-Foot contours which are located in the northern half of the county. There are 933 DXF files in this folder.
Index_file – This is the index file used to clip
the countywide contours in DXF format and
is called tile_index_layer.dxf; the tile
numbers are labeled on this DXF files. A
PDF file of this index layer is also
included in this folder and shows the break
line between the northern and southern half
and the file is called topo_dxf_index.pdf.
Spot_elevation_by_county – This is a countywide spot
elevation DXF file. Elevation of each point can be obtained from properties of each point.

Content of DXFDVD_2:DXF Format
Size: +/-3.7 GB
DXF_files Folder:
Contours_by_tile_2 Folder – This folder contains the second group of DXF files for 2-Foot contours which are located in the southern half of the county. There are 621 DXF files in this folder. Tile number D0960102 is located in the middle of Alum Creek and therefore, is empty and therefore, not included on any of these DVDs. A PDF file of the index layer shows the break line between the northern and southern half (on DXFDVD_1 and called topo_dxf_index.pdf).
